Muhammad Iqbal is a well-known social worker from Tehsil Shorkot, District Jhang. He has worked on rural development programs with various national and international social sector organizations. He worked with UNDP on Bio-saline water management, testing wastewater from barren lands, and making it usable for agriculture use. In addition, he has over 18 years of experience working in the social sector with PRSP (Punjab Rural Support Program), NRSP (National Rural Support Program), NCS, Aurat Foundation, Al-Ailan Education, and Qatar Charity. He has completed CMST training three times. He also worked for some time in the microfinance sector.

With all these organizations, he played a key foundational role in forming community organizations. He also strongly highlighted the importance and need for installing biogas plants at the village level.
