ARM's Provincial Coordinator Khaber Pakhtoon Khawa (KPK)
Inayat Ullah Khan
Mr. Inayat Ullah has joined ARM as a Provincial Coordinator & Technical Advisor on an honorary basis, extending his expertise to support Pakistan’s farming community. He represents Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a specialist in horticulture and is among the few foreign-qualified professionals in this field. He holds an MS in Plant Sciences with a specialization in Organic Plant Production from Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands and M.Sc. (Hons) in Horticulture from The University of Agriculture Peshawar.
He is currently serving as Regional Director at the Federal Seed Certification & Registration Department (FSC&RD) Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Over the course of his career, he has held several key positions within FSC&RD including Deputy Director, Seed Certification Officer (SCO) and Seed Analyst (SA) with postings in Peshawar, Swat, Abbottabad and D.I. Khan.
With extensive experience in seed certification, he is dedicated to contributing to the advancement of Pakistan’s seed sector as part of a progressive and forward-looking team. His vision is to foster a competitive and sustainable seed industry through the development and promotion of climate-resilient varieties, supported by robust public-private partnerships. He is also committed to strengthening both hybrid and indigenous seed systems to enhance agricultural productivity, ensure food security and increase the economic value of seed sector in domestic and international markets.
He is determined to:
- Oversee departmental operations and supervise field staff to ensure the effective implementation of seed certification processes.
- Coordinate with provincial agriculture departments to improve seed production strategies, enhance crop productivity and ensure seed quality in markets through enforcement of the Seed Act.
- Register and monitor fruit plant nurseries under certification standards to ensure the availability of high-quality, true-to-type planting material.
- Organize and conduct training programs on seed production, processing and storage to build the capacity of departmental staff as well of private sector.
