Prof. Dr. Tamoor Khan Qambrani
Prof. Dr. Tamoor Khan Qambrani is Head of Department and Dean Lasbela University of Agriculture and Marine Sciences Uthal Baluchistan. He is Ph.D in Plant Nematology from National Nematology Research Center (NNRC) Karachi University.
Achievements:
Collected, Identified 25 numbers of medicinal & Aromatic Plants and preserved it in Herbarium Sheets. Extracted 12 numbers of different Medicinal & Aromatic Plants oils viz Achelea, Artemisia, Ferula, Salvia, Zetoria, Pervoskia and Thyme Etc.
Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal studies of these extracted oils are under study. 19 numbers of different Plant based Products have been Developed.
A PC-1 on “Efficacy of some indigenous Medicinal & Aromatic Plants against Apple Mites” as a joint venture research between Argentina and Pakistan has Submitted to Ministry of Science and Technology. The project is in process of evaluation.
Product development; In continuation of Above Projects 19 number of Different horticultural Products have been Developed.

Achievements:
Collected 45 numbers of new Medicinal & Aromatic Plants
from different areas of NWFP & Balochistan.Cultivated and adopted 30 numbers of new Medicinal & Aromatic Plants at Peshawar.Cultivated Five numbers of indigenous mushroom species, Regenerated 500 Plantlets of Mellaleuca leocodendra an exotic species through Tissue Culture Technology, Work initiated on stigma culture of Crocus sativus for
development of crocine alkaloid., Work carried out on development of salt tolerated Variety of ground nut
Aracharus hypogae
Product Development: Developed Six numbers of research
Product on Bench Scale stage from natural resources.
