Abdullah Awan Joined Agriculture Reform Movement from Agri-Tehsil of Lahore Sadar. His for father  migrated to Pakistan from District Hoshiarpur, India. Both of his respected father and grandfather were Numberdars of the village and also served as Chairmen of the Union Council. He belong to a landowning (Zamindar) family.

In 1960, his family started business with the agency of sugar and ghee. Later then, entered the fertilizer business, which is still ongoing, Alhamdulillah. Alongside this, we also started working in the property business.

His grandfather was a childhood friend of Malik Meraj Khalid, acting Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In his village (Heer Bhedian Road, Lahore) the only house where distinguished personalities such as Nusrat Bhutto, Maulana Kausar Niazi, Governor of Punjab Nawab of Kalabagh, Imran Khan, and Qazi Hussain Ahmad have visited.
