Dr. Khunsa Khakwani
Dr. Khunsa Khakwani is a Senior Scientist at AARI who began her about 2 decade continued career as an agricultural researcher from 2003–04 as a cotton scientist, leveraging her farming background, she is passionate about cotton revival and want to remain a firm and advocate against the cotton seed mafia.
Her research focuses on enhancing crop resilience, diversity, and yield in upland cotton, including specialized studies on heat tolerance and disease resistance. A pioneer in her field, she developed Pakistan’s first maize DH inbred lines after training at CIMMYT in 2012.
She also represented Pakistan at the 12th Asian Maize Conference in 2014.
Currently, she works on cotton germplasm diversification and varietal development, while also contributing to national newspapers and serving in various employee welfare associations.
It is proudful to ARM that so courageous, bold and dedicated scientist has joined penal Technical Advisor of Agriculture Reform Movement (ARM) with hope her expertise will assist ARM’s Farming Community to better and more beneficial their farm practices.
